How To Connect Your Mobile in aptX or aptX HD on Bluetooth 5.0?
You can enjoy high resolution audio wirelessly upon pairing your mobile with a BT 5.0 device with a CSR 8675 chipset that supports aptX, aptX low latency and aptX HD.
Phoenix by Signature Acoustics is the first audio transmitter and receiver in India with Bluetooth 5.0, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD. It is powered by a CSR 8675 chipset, which is the most advanced Qualcomm chipset in the world, as of 2019.
Now, let us learn how to enable aptX and aptX HD in a mobile phone.
Please note that in order to connect in aptX/aptX HD, your mobile should have a Snapdragon processor with Bluetooth 5.0 on Android 8 and above.
For illustration purposes, let us use ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 with Android 8.1, Snapdragon 636 & Bluetooth 5.0
Step 1: Enable Bluetooth and Pair with Phoenix (or other device with BT 5.0 and CSR 8675)
Step 2: Once paired, you will receive a notification at the top of the screen. Simply tap on it. You will be able to switch between aptX and aptX HD at a single tap.
Please note that aptX low latency is preferable for movies and aptX HD for music.
Now Let us try with another phone. We will use LG V30+ with Android 8, Snapdragon 835 & Bluetooth 5.0.
Step 1: Enable Bluetooth in the mobile and pair with Phoenix
Step 2: Once paired, click on the ‘gear’ (settings) icon next to Phoenix. This is featured under the ‘paired devices’ section.
Step 3: Under ‘Connection Type’ select ‘Best Sound Quality’. You’re all set.
Additionally, you may also enable developer options in your mobile settings to check pairing code – aptX HD, aptX, AAC, SBC.
In settings, activate developer options and scroll to ‘Bluetooth Audio Codec’. You can check/select aptX, aptX HD, SBC etc.
Please note that aptX low latency is preferable for movies and aptX HD for music.
